Trial Day – Sept/Oct & Feb/Mar

Kingdom SC organises a ‘Trial Day’ for potential new members usually twice a year, typically in September/October and again in February/March. Information and details surrounding this event will be promoted on all our social media pages (Facebook & Instagram), our website and via posters at Tralee Sports & Leisure Complex.

Swimmers are assessed by our coaches on the Trial Day. An assessment by our coaches is compulsory for all swimmers prior to entry to the Club.

Assessment Criteria:

• Age – Must be minimum 10 years of age & maximum 13 years of age on 31st December of calendar year of trial.

• Level – Must be minimum Level 7 of swimming academy or above.

• Must be able to swim: 10 lengths Front Crawl, 8 lengths Back Crawl & 4 lengths Breaststroke (proper breast kick essential).

  Coaches are assessing technique, body position, timing, stroke and kick – NOT SPEED.

Successful candidates will be contacted after the Trial Day to invite them to join the Club and to attend an information evening with their parents. This information evening allows the Club to explain the Club Structure and to help parents understand the competitive swimming pathway in Munster. Parents will also be informed of the commitment involved together with the parental input and support required by the Club to enable a swimmer to become a member.
